Following an update last week I am now having calendar view event display issues in a few browsers. I’ve listed them in terms of importance. 1) Google chrome. – No events appear – just get the Jquery loading icon 2) Iphone IOS 7.0.4- Calendar & Events background colour loads but cannot see text. The calendar was working prior to the update. I also notice that IE8 does not load at all. – can you confirm if this is expected Message: Expected identifier, string or number The settings are default except for the event background colour. Build Info: Thank you. – Paul |
Hi Paul, Can you try checking the calendar with the default WordPress theme (now twentyfourteen)? This will help narrow down what’s causing the issues. You can do a test drive on another theme without changing up the theme for non-admins if you install the theme test drive plugin. |

Hi thanks for your reply. I have applied the theme test drive plugin and tested against Twenty11 theme. The problem is still there. I retired a few times – The events did display once but then failed on other attempts. Its important to bear in mind the load failure issue affect Google chrome. Firefox is ok. On the previous plugin it was working as normal. I will need clarification on the IOS7 and IE8 support for this problem also. The failure to display in Google chrome is the critical issue. Thanks |
Hi there, Here are two other troubleshooting steps you can try: 1) Check to see if error display is turned on and/or WP_DEBUG is set to true in the wp-config.php file. Any errors that get output into the calendar’s JSON feed will cause the constant spinner/no events loading. 2) Temporarily deactivating all the non-EE plugins may narrow down the issue. |
