We’ve started getting a strange message on the calendar tooltip where the “Register” link used to be. It’s not on every class, but on many.

Attention
We’re sorry. Either an error occurred or the event(s) you were attempting to register for may no longer be open for registration.

EE 3.1.35.P

Hi,

I’ve not see this issue before. When did this start happening, with a recent upgrade of Event Espresso? Are the affected events configured differently than those that are working? Any clues might be helpful.

We never saw it before upgrading to 3.1.35.P, but I’m not sure exactly when it started. The events with the error include a link to the cart in the event description [ESPRESSO_CART_LINK], but the cart itself seems to be working fine. Other than that, there don’t seem to be any differences in the events.

The [ESPRESSO_CART_LINK] will usually display that message if the event has closed/is full or expired. It looks like this is what is happening on the site.

For example, if you look at the tool-tip for ‘Flash Pro intro’ on the 9th you will see the message mentioned above. Clicking on that event to try an register you’ll see ‘This event has expired or is no longer available.’

As that event has expired (today’s date is past event date) it is no longer available, causing the message.

Is it possible to get your login details to take a look at the events? If so please send them using https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

Due to the number of events created I’m assuming these were created with the Recurring Events Manager (REM) with this option selected? http://d.pr/i/FX0x

This means all of the events will remain on the Calendar until the end registration date.

We’ll be able to tell you more once one of us has taken a look.

It’s happening for open events that are available for registration too. Try hovering over November events, for example. Yes, we’re using the Recurring Events Manager. I’ve sent the login info. Thanks.

Hi,

I’ve just taken a look and can’t see anything obvious. The registration dates etc I suspected to be the issue are not.

I can see you have modified files within the wp-content/uploads/espresso folder, one of which is the shopping_cart.php file.

I would advise you to rename the wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates folder to something else for a moment (something like templates-old) or there is a button within Event-Espresso->Template Settings which will do it for you (you’ll need to manually change it back afterwards). Rename that folder and see if the issue persists, if it does not then the issue is with the modified templates files there.

If the issue still remains please advise and we will investigate further.
