Hi,
We’ve been using EE Calendar addon and have had a lot of issues with page loading. We have already many performance enhancements integrated into the website. https://www.jansenartcenter.org/events-calendar/
We also have so many events the visual isn’t so great. Is there a configuration option we are missing? Are there other addons that are calendar based that we can use?

Hi,
I took a look at your calendar one one thing that will help is some of the events dates should be changed so the actual datetimes of the events match up with when the event occurs/occured.
For example, the first calendar events that display are from this event:

Are the 4 weeks for that class really
April 12, 2018 – September 14, 2019
April 19, 2018 – September 14, 2019
April 26, 2018 – September 14, 2019
May 3, 2018 – September 14, 2019
It seems that event occurred back in the spring of 2018, but it’s still showing up on the calendar because the end dates were set to last week Saturday.
So two things you can do that will make the calendar load faster and make the visual much greater:
1) Set the shortcode parameter show_expired=false
2) Make corrections the dates of the events so the match when the events actually occur

Thanks Josh, I think you suggestion has been really helpful. Do you know of any addons similar to the calendar that have been built off of EE? We may want to have a custom calendar built and perhaps I should ask in the forum? Thank you

Hi,
I’m not aware of other add-ons that are similar to the calendar, in that they would also display a calendar.
If you decide to have a custom calendar built, I can recommend contacting the folks at codeable.io for a quote.
