Caching issue on Cloudways

I have excluded the required pages (eg, /registration-checkout/ ) as per https://support.cloudways.com/how-to-exclude-url-from-varnish/ but I am still getting an error where the site keeps thinking my cart is empty.

As a test, I completely disabled varnish then it started working again (recognising items in my basket). I’ve contacted cloudways support and they said that “you will need to check the cookies serving on this application on that page which need to be excluded on that page in order to resolve the issue. You can check the link below which you can share with your developer in order to rectify all the cookies in order to exclude it one by one. ”

https://prnt.sc/qt35e7

Can you please advise?

I am currently experiencing a caching issue where the site keeps thinking my cart is empty even though I have excluded the required pages (eg, /registration-checkout/ ) as per https://support.cloudways.com/how-to-exclude-url-from-varnish/. However, disabling varnish completely resolves the issue.

Hi,

I’m afraid I do not understand what they wrote. Can you find out what they mean by “rectify all the cookies in order to exclude it one by one.”?

How does one rectify all cookies, and what do they want to be excluded? In other words, what is “it”?

Their screenshot doesn’t appear to include any cookies that Event Espresso sets or uses, so maybe they can clarify a bit.

Hi,

On Cloudways (recently moved hosts), varnish cache is turned on by default (at the server level) and this is an issue with EE. Turning off varnish solves the issue so we know the problem is with Varnish.

I have excluded the required the core urls but this doesn’t do anything. Cloudways support is then asking what are the cookies used by EE so that they can also exclude them in varnish?
