Break up Registration not working

Now since update Version 4.930 there is a new feature to stop ticket registration on any step of registration. But using the button even on 1. step – if user breaks up and uses the new button to stop buying ticket, there is an alert that any data will be deleted. But we get all data file to backend, as it was recently on older versions.
So how should this feature work on your plan?
Just switching between different payments on step 2 does alerting with popup that everything went fine and customer will get all information, which is not true, after using break up button, there is no more mail to customer. So the workflow and logic for customer goes into the blue sky… But Backend has all data like for a normal ticket workflow.

Hello,

It currently works by clearing the session. Any existing information that has been shared will not be affected.

We have an enhancement ticket that will switch the registration status to cancelled when that is clicked.

We are also working on another enhancement ticket to switch the registration status to cancelled when a registrant/attendee is moved to the trash and then restore the registration status if the record is restored.

Sorry, what do you mean with “clearing the session”?

Does this also affect my second Question, that user buying a ticket within cart step 2, payment details – when he changes payment from paypal to wire? At this point the alert popup is saying ticket is complete, just by switching payment. When user does cancel or use break up button, data is not deleted.

Sorry, what do you mean with “clearing the session”?

When a user selects tickets and starts a registration they start a session, this session has an ID and that is what ties the user to their selection.

‘Clearing the session’ simply means the current session is closed and another started (new ID so new ticket selection etc)

I’m not sure I understand this.

The user selects a payment method, then another? then cancels the registration?

Can you provide an example of the steps taken to see the issue you have?

When user does cancel or use break up button, data is not deleted.

EE does not provide the option for users to delete data, at all.

The users session is cleared which allows them to register onto another event (or the same event if preferred) but the original registration is not deleted from EE. There are various reasons for this but one is to allow you to contact those registrations at a later date and see if they wish to continue with the registration.
