my blog/events/ show no events
this may be not such a big thing,
there we use event list shortcodes
But then, the widgets “title links”
still direct to this page.
Can I remove or change those title links?

Hello,
Does your theme have an events option or is there another plugin that is using the events slug?
If so, then you can change the slug for Event Espresso through your WP-admin –> Events –> Templates. Then look for the events list page area and then update it.
Afterwards, then go to Settings –> Permalinks so your permalinks are refreshed.
Do you then see events on the updated events listing page?

Twenty twelve is the theme installed,
A child theme has been made,
i ll check for the slugs…

If temporarily switch to a default theme such as twentyfourteen does the /events/ url work then?
I know your working with a child theme of twentytwelve but this looks like an issue with the theme rather than your permalinks.
