Greetings
I am new to EE4 and would like to know how to add a billing address to the invoice please.
I see that a similar question was raised in 2015 but I am not sure if EE4 has a different approach to solving the problem.

Regards

Hi,

You can add all or any of the following shortcodes to the main content section of the Invoice template editor:

[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ADDRESS]

[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ADDRESS2]

[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_CITY]

[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ZIP_PC]

[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ADDRESS_STATE]

[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_COUNTRY]

Please note: The above fields will only be included if you capture the matching Address system question fields in the registration form.

Thanks for the response, Josh. Much appreciated
So it I wished to put in a residential and billing address, how would I go about this?

You would need an additional custom question group to collect the additional address.

I’d recommend using the system questions for the billing address and create your own group for residential, you can then pull the info for those custom questions using [PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ANSWER_*{question text}] in the Invoice.

So add your custom address questions for the residential address to Event Espresso -> Registration Form -> Questions.

Then add your custom residential question group in Event Espresso -> Registration Form -> Question Groups and select those custom questions you just created to be included in the group.

We have some documentation on questions/questions groups here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/add-questions-event-espresso-question-groups/

Set that question group on the event for the Primary Registrant (Event Espresso -> Events -> {edit event} -> Primary Registratn Question groups)

Then in the invoice you can use:

[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ANSWER_*Residential Address 1]
[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ANSWER_*Residential Address 2]
[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ANSWER_*Residential Address City]
etc

(This is assuming the ‘question text’ for each of those questions is ‘Residential Address 1’, ‘Residential Address 2’ and ‘Residential Address City’)

Tony,
We are hosting an event in Namibia but the fee is being charged in USD. How do I change the currency since the system uses the administrative details to set the currency? (It is being administered from South Africa which is in Rands)

So you Organization Address country is set to United States?

EE doesn’t allow you to set currencies for specific events, but you can change the currency in use for the country EE is using in Event Espresso -> General Settings- > Countries.

Select the country you have set as your organisation address and in the dropdown and it will load all of the settings for that country. (By default the country EE is set to use should load automatically).

There you’ll find multiple currency settings you can change for that currency country.

Is that what you are looking for?

Hi Tony
Thank you for your reply.
Our event will be held in Namibia but all admin will be done in South Africa (it’s default currency is Rands)
The fee is in USD so if I put the admin address in the event settings as south africa, it will default to ZAR and USD as we need.
Does that make sense?

Regards

…and USD is what we need

The fee is in USD so if I put the admin address in the event settings as south africa, it will default to ZAR and USD as we need.

Ok, so set your Admin address as South Africa and save.

Then go to Event Espresso -> General Settings -> Countries.

South Africa settings should load by default now you have it set in the address (EE will only allow you to change the currency settings for the country currently set in EE so you’ll need to do the above first)

Now go through the currency settings for South Africa and set them up as USD
(You can open another tab with the countries section loaded and load the US there, then manually copy the details over to South Africa and save).

EE will then use USD for South Africa.

Is that what you need?

Hi Tony, that was what I tried initially. The South Africa details are greyed-out (can’t change them) but the USA details can.
I think I shall choose US as the country but just hard code the payee address details. It will be an easier workaround I think.

The South Africa details are greyed-out (can’t change them) but the USA details can.

That means you have the Organization address set to United States.

You can only edit the currency details for country you currently have EE set to.
