I am still playing with the setup of the pre-release (beta) calendar and comparing to the regular general release. One area I am struggling with is the CSS colors I used for categories. We are not able to use the regular category colors assignment as each event is assigned to multiple categories (one for the artist and one of the length of the class – 2 hour or 3 hour).

So in the live site which uses the older version of the calendar: http://kennett-design.com/calendar/ You’ll see that the 2-hour events (the majority) are the maroon color, while the 3-hour events (such as Nov 17) is a dark blue color.

I am trying to get this same effect on the new calendar: http://kennettdesign.staging.wpengine.com/calendar/ but the CSS classes for the categories do not seem to be there? And if they were, do we still update the CSS in the espresso_default.css file (which is moved under wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates/css folder?

Forgot to mention, that yes, I do have the “Enable CSS for Categories” option set to “Yes” in the calendar settings: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4138085/ee-beta-cal-settings.jpg

Hi Greg,

The classes are in the markup. Here’s an annotated screenshot showing where they are.

The custom CSS can be added to any stylesheet that loads onto the page. You can use what ever file that works best for you.
