How do I update the best and safe way?
And I also got a PM from “Jonathan Wilson” but do not have access to the PM system?
Whether you go with the auto-update or manually update method, these 3 items are highly recommended:
1) Back up the database before updating.
2) Backup and remove any modified template files in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates and modified gateway files in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways. If there are any files that were copied over from the core Event Espresso plugin, these will be out of date when updating from versions prior to 3.1.28.
3) Please be sure to update all the add-ons that have been updated.
I’ll let Jonathan know that you don’t have access to the PM and to email you directly.
