Hi, please help with the easiest way to transition from EE3 to EE4. Thanks! |
Hi Brenda, Event Espresso 4 will migrate your EE3 data over when it is first activated. However there is a catch with that, you current version of EE3 must be 3.1.36 or greater (it’s a simple fix if that isn’t the case but worth mentioning). The best way to migrate over is to do so on a development copy of your site first (clone the site locally if needed) to check if there are any problems there first, it depends on the plugins/themes/setup you have. Event Espresso 4 itself does most of the hard work, however the features within EE4 are not the same as the features within EE3. So the first question is, are you using any of the EE3 add-ons? If so which ones? |

Our EE3 version is: 3.1.37.3.P Please send a link that shows the features comparison between EE3 and EE4. Thanks! |
You can take a look here: https://eventespresso.com/differences-ee4-ee3/ One of the big differences is EE4 currently does not support Promo codes although we do plan on releasing an add-on for this shortly, we had a beta add-on currently available for testing. |

Hi Tony, Right now on EE3 we have to use only one email address for event registration notifications. What we need is to have multiple events, each with their own email address for registration emails. Example: 3 therapists each setting up their own training event, and each receiving the notifications and payments for their own events, not one global email that is set up in settings like we have now. Is this possible in EE4? Right now in EE3 I can set up a meta box in an event and define a paypal address for each event, that is working fine but I also need to be able to specify different email addresses for each event. Thanks! |
Yes EE4 supports sending Emails to multiple accounts. Within EE4 the emails will be sent to Event Admin’s Email address, the Event Admin is the email address of the user account set as the event author. So if you users create their own events they will receive the Admin emails for that event.
We don’t currently support multiple PayPal accounts within core, however we have a nsippet available here: Which allows you to set a value within event meta to use the paypal id for that event. |
