Hey there guys, new to this program. Quick question; looking for a recommendation on how to set this up.

We have a two-day event. Attendees can register for Day 1 or Day 2, or both. With each option (Day 1, Day 2, Both), they then have the option to add a Product (T-Shirt, for $20) where they then have to select their T-Shirt Size.

Note that if they select “Both”, it will be at a discounted rate.

What would be the best recommendation to handle the entire scenario?

Hi,

It depends on whether you are using EE3 or EE4, though both are fairly similar.

In EE3 I would create an event with 3 ticket options (Day 1, 2, both) at the relevant prices. I would use the Price Modifier plugin to add extra questions about the product, which will then modify the ticket price (i.e. add $20)

If daily capacity is a concern, then I would set up two events, Day 1 and Day 2, still using the Price Modifier plugin for the t-shirts, but also I would use the Volume Discount and Multiple Event Registration addons to create an automatic discount if the two events were added to the cart.

Using EE4, I would create a single event with six ticket types: 3 tickets and three tickets with a t-shirt.

EE4 handles the pricing structures very well but right now doesn’t have an option to add “bolt ons” like t-shirts.
