We’re working on a redesign of our site and I’ve got a development instance of WordPress set up at Liquid Web. Id love to be able move all the classes and settings and stuff over to it now that we’ve built the new theme. I have a couple questions however:
1. Can I use EE and all my add on plugins on this dev instance without a license? Whats the best way to do this?
2. What is the best way to export and import all our classes – we have hundreds.

Thanks guys!
Shelly

Hi Shelly,

1. Can I use EE and all my add on plugins on this dev instance without a license? Whats the best way to do this?

Yes, you can. The plugins will all function exactly the same without a license key. So you’ll leave/keep the site license key field blank on the dev site. That field is on the Event Espresso > General Settings page.

2. What is the best way to export and import all our classes – we have hundreds.

We recommend the WP Migrate DB plugin. Please bear in mind that the entire database from the live site will be migrated to the dev site. This is necessary because events & attendees are partly recorded to the wp_posts table. So there is no simple way to export/import events only, you must also export/import regular WP posts and pages with those.
