My client offers tours from 9am – 5pm, in 2 hour slots, 7 days/week. What is the best setup? I’ve installed EE4 but it looks like I may need to switch to EE3 and install reoccurring events add-on. Is that the best option? Thanks!
Within EE3 the recurring events manager basically takes a single event and duplicates it multiple times altering the event and registrations dates to follow the formula you set.
If you use EE3 for this and need to set a specific attendee limit for each time slot (I’m guessing you can’t squeeze an extra 4 people into the heli if they all book on the same timeslot 🙂 ) then each of those timeslots would need to be a separate event. Which will be come much harder to manage ( 4 events per day, 7 days a week is 28 events par week x amount of weeks) both for yourselves, and your customers.
Within EE4 you could set up an individual events for each day, a single datetime within each event, then multiple tickets within that event (1 for each time slot)
So in that case, each day is a separate event. Each timeslot has its own quantity, your attendees can select which tickets they would like from the available timeslots – http://take.ms/yQkP9
The setup of the event is just a single datetime, and multiple tickets for that datetime – http://take.ms/bKJqM
You could also include multiple datetimes within a single event, but then you will need to create a set of tickets that apply only to the relevant datetime. Which will start getting complicated as you add more.
As EE4 does not have a recurring events manager currently this would take much more manual work to initially set up, but will be much easier to manage in the long run.
