Does each barcode scanner in use need to be attached to a device, such as a tablet or PC? Does the user need to reference the screen of the device to perform check in?
I would like to perform continuous check in only. I would like the ticket taker to be able to to get a “go”/”no-go” from the hand held barcode scanner without referencing another device. Is that possible?

Hi there,

Does each barcode scanner in use need to be attached to a device, such as a tablet or PC?

It needs to connect to your site to verify the ticket, how it does that depends on the device. But If I understand your question, yes it needs to be attached to a device.

Does the user need to reference the screen of the device to perform check in?

Using a handheld barcode scanner, yes. The scanner is just passing the value to an input on the scanner page, it needs to load that page to scan.

You could use the mobile apps and just use the devices camera to scan the ticket, that will then connect to the site through the devices cell or wifi connection to verify the ticket:
