If I simply enter my bank account information in the Bank Draft Settings, will I automatically be able to receive and deposit customer payments or is there a service I must pay for?

Hello,
Adding the information will provide your attendee/registrants with information on how to complete the payment. It does not process the payment automatically.

Can you guide me on how to get Bank Drafts setup to it will process payment? OR are you saying EE4 just accepts their banking information and I need to install another plugin to process these payments?

Hello,
The Bank Draft does process any payments.
You enter your information through the gateway settings page. Then this information is provided to your attendees/registrants after registration checkout. They can then initiate the bank draft through their local bank.

So you’re saying that after they use the EE4 registration process, they then have to go down to their local bank and initiate a bank transfer?
I am looking for a solution where they can enter their banking information and they’re done and payment is processed – no extra software, no extra steps with their bank, etc.

That isn’t possible with Event Espresso at this time. The check and bank draft payments gateways provide information on how to complete the payment. No payments are processed by these gateways.

So I’m clear, it’s not really a gateway right? It’s just like an invoice or manifest, but with our bank account information that the can walk down to a bank and do a wire transfer? I’m trying to understand this.

Hi,
It is a payment gateway but it does not handle any funds. They would need to manually make the transfer through their own bank (online or in person at their local bank).
It can’t transfer any funds automatically.
