Hello,
We organize large scale exhibitions and conferences and we need to find a plug-in that integrates with Event Espresso to print professional badges.
In the past, we preprint badge stock (aprox 4″ x 5″) for a variety of participants types, ie: VIP, Exhibitor, Speaker, Delegate, Visitor, Security, Organizer, etc. These preprinted badges are in color and include the badge type, event logo, and sponsor branding. We set-up several B&W laser printers at the registration desk, each loaded with a different badge type. When a person registers, we select the appropriate printer in the print dialog box for the correct badge type. Then print the persons name and company on the front of the badge. The badge is then inserted into a plastic sleeve with lanyard.
We normally have between 300 and 1000 people registering the morning of the event opening. This is the most critical moment as most attendees are VIPs and they don’t like to wait in line.
We are willing to consider to other style of badges, for example plastic credit card style badges, as long as we can produce badges that clearly identify the participant type.
The ideal solution would integrate with EE, allowing us to scan the tickets at the registration desk, and print the badge directly from EE. Then have the ability to track which registrants have checked-in and had their badge printed.
I have the ticketing add-on. However, I am having difficulties getting a template to print to a custom size (4″ x 5″). I would be satisfied with a ticket template that is customized to print the registrants name and company using the same preprinted badges as we have done in the past.
I am also open to a 3rd party plugin for EE that is stable. This plugin would incorporate badge printing with EE, and if possible provide lead retrieval, and door list/event access management for controlling the door at conference lunches, dinners, or other side events.
Can you advise the best method and/or 3rd party plugin to achieve our badge printing requirements?

Hi Mark,
My first option would be to use the Ticketing add on, and modify the Deluxe ticket template to fit your needs (it’s just over 5″ wide and 2.5″ tall so it should be possible to get it to the right size).
However, this may not be practical, in that you would need to cut out the badge part, and from the sounds of it your guests will get impatient with that.
There isn’t a specific badge printing add on, barring the Ticketing addon, that I am aware of.
