The event page is not using the global header and footer. it is also duplicating the date information. Can you please point me to the right place to fix this. the single event pages are not correct either.

Hi there,

Avada runs the_content multiple times which then causes a few different issues on the page. We had a previous report of something similar here:

https://eventespresso.com/topic/avada-theme-is-displaying-event-details-in-page-header/

Try adding this snippet to the site:

https://gist.github.com/Pebblo/bb0c36c05392a3b91ea1c635fcaa794d

You can add that to a custom functions plugin on your site, we have some documentation on creating one here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/create-site-specific-plugin-wordpress-site/

That basically removes EE’s function from when Avada is running the_content and then re-adds them later to run ‘correctly’.

Does that help with the output?

We had a report of Avada doing this

I added this code to the functions file, but now the ticket selector is gone. https://theinsideoutfoundation.org/events/11th-annual-womens-health-seminar-e-tickets/

Hmm, something else is going on here.

Can you send me a copy of the version of Avada you are using so I can try to reproduce this locally?

Officially Event Espresso does not support page builders and Avada are doing something strange here, but I’ll happily take a look and see.

I am going to send you a login to the website. Let me know if you need something else.

Ok, so I’m not making any changes to the site but what happens if you don’t use avada to control the ‘content’ of events?

Can you send me a copy of Avada I can install locally and take a look? I’d like to add enable debugging within EE and see what happens on the request, I can’t do that on a live site.

Gotcha, How do I send this file to you?

The easiest method is using something like WeTransfer to send the .zip file to support[at]eventespresso.com

I’ll install it locally and see if I can spot anything.

Tony, did you get that file?

Hi there,

My apologies, I missed the email, but yes I did and just started looking into this now.

Avada requires registration to install the additional plugins for it, I can request a test account with them but if you could also send over the ‘Avada Core’ and ‘Avada Builder’ I’ll try installing them locally to see if they’ll work without registration so I can view this whilst waiting on a response from them.

Side note – As a rule, we don’t purchase licenses to provide support for another theme/plugin, there are simply too many for use to purchase and my pockets aren’t that deep 🙂 We can request a test account/license just so we have the ability to use the theme/add-on as a user to reproduce the issue etc and most authors (including ourselves) will happily send over a copy/account to just that. However, some do refuse so just a heads up in case (in the past Avada have been happy to work with us iirc).

Ok Let me see If I can get the key from our client. I will send another email with the other two pieces you need.

Ok Let me see If I can get the key from our client.

The problem with that is my install then counts towards their site limit so we generally don’t recommend using a live key unless it allows for test/dev sites.

I will send another email with the other two pieces you need.

Thank you.

I am sending you another link. this is what the company sent that built the website sent us. I think you can install this and use everything without a key. He said you only need the key for add-on features.

Ok, so my snippet needed an update to make sure it only re-added correct filter to the_content based on the output.

https://gist.github.com/Pebblo/bb0c36c05392a3b91ea1c635fcaa794d

You’ve added the code to functions.php, however, that didn’t work at all on my site and I recommend using a custom functions plugin:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/create-site-specific-plugin-wordpress-site/

(You will need to remove the code you added to functions.php before creating the above)

The ticket selector not being displayed on the events archive is due to a setting within Avada, it sets the archives to only show an excerpt, EE will only inject the ticket selector the_content, not into the excerpt.

On the site go to Avada -> Options -> Blog -> General Blog.

Set the ‘Blog Content Display’ option to ‘Full Content’ and save.

That will fix the /events/ output to display the ticket selector if you use my updated snippet.

Awesome!! I will work on this and let you know if I have any problems.

Hey Tony, we have added the custom plugin and changed the blog content to display full content and it still does not work. the ticket selector is not there. it fixes the layout, but you still cannot buy a ticket.

On the event list? Have you set the event lists to display the ticket selector in EE’s settings?

Event Espresso -> Events -> Templates (tab) -> Event list pages -> Display Ticket Selector?

Is that set to Yes?

The odd part is the single event section still not showing the ticket selector, that’s something specific to your set up as I’m not having that issue.

I did not. I updated that setting and the ticket selector shows on the list now. Any idea why the list shows up differently when I use the shortcode to output it on a page? https://theinsideoutfoundation.org/womens-health-seminar/

I think we can get by with it not outputting on the individual event pages.

I took it off, it was causing more problems.
