Automatically send email after checkout

Hello

We are currently looking at moving from EE3 to EE4 and are testing EE 4.10.8.

One of the things we would like to do is print a ticket with a unique QR code on it for each attendee and scan each ticket at the event so that it automatically updates the checkin or checkout status of the attendee. We are also hoping that on chekout we can have EE4 automatically send an email to the attendee that has been checked out. Is this possible using EE4 and the printable tickets and barcode scanner addons?

Hi Joe,

Some of what you are requesting is possible out of the box, so I’ll start with that:

Yes, this is possible with the Printable Tickets add-on. Each ticket will have a QR code you can scan, note that the Barcode scanner add-on is intended to be used with a physical barcode scanner. If you are looking to use the ticketing mobile apps, you don’t need that add-on for those.

We are also hoping that on chekout we can have EE4 automatically send an email to the attendee that has been checked out.

Currently, we don’t have anything within EE that will send and email when the user is checked in/out, so whilst it would be possible to do it would require custom development as it’s not something we have available.
