Each site on a multisite install is considered a separate site/install. Thus, if you have a single-site license and your multisite primary domain is blog.apologia.com, blog.apologia.com/live will be seen as a separate site and won’t let you do the update. Single-site licenses do not support WordPress multisite.

Sorry for my stupidity on this issue. The only site in the multisite we use ee on is the blog.apologia.com/live. The plugin is not activated on any other sites including the root. Do I still have to buy a multi-site license when I’m using it on only one site?

I’ll reset your license to see if the error disappears, but if it doesn’t then you might have it installed somewhere else. That or we need to do some digging into your setup to see if our license key registration system needs updating for cases like yours.

Deactivated mer
Removed key and saved changes
Copied key from ee account
Pasted key and checked for space at beginning and end
Saved changes
Logged out and back in
Still receiving same message and ee account still shows in use on one site (the site I’m trying to update on).

Sorry

Just for fun, I created a new license key for you. Try that one and see if the message goes away. If it does, let me know and I’ll delete the old key and see if it comes back. If not, you’re good to go. If it does, we’ll need to change things on our end.

Used new key. Error message disappeared but no update link next to plugin. Went to the video showing how to implement and followed all the steps again (wanted to see what the update link looked like and make sure I was following all the steps). When I finished the last step I got the old error message again.

If you want to call it quits and for me to do a manual update via download just let me know. Obviously not to many people are using it on just one site of a multisite install or you’d have heard more about this 🙂

You’re right there aren’t too many people, but we need to make sure it works on multisite, too, for future functionality. Which key do you have active now? The one that starts with 04 or the one that starts with 56?

56…f2 is the current key

Thx. I’ll remove the other one then. For now, you’ll just need to update manually and I’ll let our dev team know what’s going on so we can do some real testing on multisite environments. Stay tuned.
