Hi I am getting the following error message when trying to update my plugins

There is a new version of Event Espresso available. View What’s New with version 3.1.35.P. You need a valid Site License Key to enable automatic upgrades. Your current membership level does not allow automatic upgrades on more than one domain. Please log into your account to manage your Site License Keys or purchase a support license now.

Hi Cameron,

You license key has been reset, please remove the key from general settings, save options, replace the key and re-save the options. That will allow you to update again.

As you are currently using v3.1.27, after the update you may get the same error message. Just let us know and will reset they license again, that should then be the end of it 🙂

Thanks went to update the key and can’t get into the admin section of my website. I get a blank page with this text on it

Warning: ucwords() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given in /home/simon923/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/class/pue/pue-client.php on line 80

Can you disable the Mailchimp add-on for now and try again please.

I don’t have lots of experience using WordPress. When I go to my admin page I can’t login or see anything but the error message. Is there another way to disable the mailchimp add-on?

The easiest way is to disable it via FTP by renaming the mailchimp plugin folder.

Have you used FTP before?

Here are details on updating via FTP.

If you have the servers FTP detail’s I’d be happy to disable the the MailChimp add-on which should allow you to continue with the above if you would prefer?

If so send the details via https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

All the updated EE add-on’s have now been disabled, you can now login to the site.

You can try the above instructions now, it should allow you to update.

Thanks I logged in and tried to update the event espresso plugin and code this message now

An error occurred while updating Event Espresso: Update package not available..

Do I need to download the new version and install it? Also can I activate the ticketing add-on again, or should I wait until after I upgrade event espresso?

Also when I look at my plugins this message shows as well

There is an automatic update for Event Espresso available but your Site License Key has not been set. Please go to the Event Espresso General Settings page to set your Site License Key for this addon.

I have update the License Key as described before, saved the settings even logged out but still get this message

I have updated the event espresso plugin. Should I try activating the mailchimp and ticketing plugin again?

Hi Cameron,

Sorry for the delay getting back to you.

Great, event espresso updated. Does it currently display any messages concerning your license key?

You should be able to reactivate the other plugins again now although I have renamed the folders and added ‘-disabled’ to the end to fix the previous issue you had. Again I don’t mind removing this from the folder names if you would like?

I would recommended learning how to use FTP as it will come in handy at some point when working with WordPress.

Hi Cameron,

I’ve renamed the folders back to their original names, try reactivating them now.
