We do an annual conference and just started using EE4 for registrations. In MailChimp, we have a column for each year covering a 15 year span from the past and in to the future and use this to track attendance. Is there a way to set a hidden question or field that will automatically activate the checkbox on the appropriate year column in MailChimp when someone registers? Even if I have to update that question/field in EE each year to designate the correct column, I just need to make sure that when a person registers for the 2018 event, that the 2018 column in MailChimp is checked (without the attendee having to manually check the box when they register).

Hi there,
So you have all of the attendees in a single list and want to update a merge var in MailChimp whenever a user registers onto the event?
The MailChimp add-on passes the subscribe arguments through a filter before submitting the call to MailChimp, so you can add additional fields to it using some custom code, if you are comfortable with PHP you can take a look at this filter:
FHEE__EE_MCI_Controller__mci_submit_to_mailchimp__subscribe_args
