Had this same problem back in February and NOW it is starting all over again. I own 5 licenses but I get an error message that I am ONLY allowed ONE DOMAIN to be auto-updated. C’mon… this is getting ridiculous the amount of issues I have had with this problem. My clients are getting really pissed off that they cannot update their software and I am wasting time & money fixing it for them! Please help!

Error Message on Dashboard: You have the correct Site License Key for Event Espresso but your current membership access only allows for automatic upgrades on one domain. Please log into your account to manage your Site License Keys or purchase a support license now.

WordPress 3.5.1
Event Espresso 3.1.30.7P

Hi Deirdre,

I’m sorry for all the trouble you are having with the license keys. Here’s what we can do:

If you go to your account page and request a reset for the keys for the sites where this is happening, we’ll assign new keys for them. You do not need to pay the $10 for the reset, we’ll reset them for free. After you get a reset notification you can put the new keys in the license key field on the Event Espresso>General settings pages for the affected sites.

The errors you are seeing typically happen when there was a development site that had the same key entered and left there after moving to production. So in those cases there are two domains pinging our server with the same key. The same can also happen if it’s a multi-site installation. At this time, the auto update feature isn’t compatible with a network installation of WP.

Yes this seems to be your solution for the problem the last time. I am getting increasingly tired of having to do this. It makes me look like an idiot in front of my clients when I constantly have to step in and fix this. I have reset this license key for this client 4 times now over the course of several months.

very annoying!

Hi Deirdre,

Can you let us know if it’s only this site affected: jecballou.com, or are any of the others affected too?

We’d be happy to investigate into why this is happening for your sites. We will need to know what the hosting companies are for the sites that are affected, and a list of plugins installed on the sites where this is happening.

You can copy and paste the list of plugins from the Event Espresso>System status page in the admin.

The most recent License RESET DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM!!! This is really getting ridiculous. My client is really angry. Still getting error… “You have the correct Site License Key for Event Espresso but your current membership access only allows for automatic upgrades on one domain. Please log into your account to manage your Site License Keys or purchase a support license now.”

Two of the 4 licenses I am using have this issue. I did not know about the 4th one as I just installed that less than one month ago.

I really don’t have time in my busy schedule to be dealing with these constant issues. At some point in time all my 4 licenses have had this issue. Most of them use the most of the same plugins.

Here’s a list of Jecballou.com

Hi Deirdre,

Thanks for the update. In this case, it looks like the issues you are seeing are from the older versions of Event Espresso add-ons that are installed. The older add-ons did not have the plugin update engine client code, and they have the older folder names, and that can trip up the update engine.

So to fix this, you can manually update a few of the plugins on the sites that are affected. For the Jecballou.com site these are:

Event Espresso – Multi Event Registration version 1.0.2

Event Espresso – Social Media version 1.0.1

For cawda.org they are:

Event Espresso – Members Addon version 1.9

Event Espresso – Social Media version 1.1

What you can do is deactivate, then delete these add-ons and install the new versions of them on the respective sites. Once that’s done, please request a license key reset and we’ll reset the keys for free.
