Hi guys,

I am using the Divi theme. I removed the Author info from my blog because it is the WP user that is shown. Is there a way to get it to link up the the EE People instead?

Fo example, when they click the author to a blog post, it takes them to that People post (bio) rather than the WP user profile.

I don’t want to have 2 profiles visible to the public – WP user and EE People.

Thanks,

Derek

Hi Derek,

I’m not sure I follow what is happening.

Can you link me to a page I can use to view the links you are referring to, please?

HI Tony,

I hide the author information in posts, so you can’t see it, but here’s a blog post. If I show the author, it will be the WP user that was the author of the post. That author is me (Derek). But I am also one of the EE People, which we use as our profiles – https://lupineart.com/people/derek-kaufman/

So I think there are 2 profiles – 1 WP Author and 1 EE People.

If I show the author information on the blog posts, is there a way to link that up to the EE People profile instead of the WP user profile?

Do you know what I mean…?

Thanks,

Josh

Hi Derek,

This would involve re-coding the parts of your WordPress theme to display the information from the people post type. It will also involve mapping each author/wp user account to each EE people post type, one way to do that would be by adding custom fields.
