Authorize.net testing for multiple events

We have a current event that has been activated to accept live authorize.net transactions and now need to set up and test a 2nd event. The 2nd event needs to stay in test mode until we are ready to go live. We only have 1 authorize.net account and therefore have to use the same authorize.net API login and transaction key for both events. For the 2nd event I know I can set to YES the setting to “Send test transactions”. What exactly does this do within authorize.net? How will our finance person know there are test transactions being sent?

Hi,

What you can do is get a sandbox account from Authorize.net to do the testing. You can sign up for a sandbox account here:
https://developer.authorize.net/hello_world/sandbox/

Then, you’ll install the Payment Methods Pro add-on. The add-on is available to download from your account page. Once that’s installed you’ll go to Event Espresso > Payment Methods, then go in to edit the Authorize.net payment method, and you’ll click “Activate Another Payment Method”. Then, you’ll have a new settings page for a second Authnet account, where you’ll input the sandbox credentials, and select “Debug Mode” > On.

Then you can assign the testing event to the sandbox payment method. You’ll find more info about the Payment Methods pro add-on here:
