For us, the Authorize.net AIM payment system has suddenly stopped working. What happens is that you go to checkout, enter in your CC information and hit the complete purchase button. Then you are quickly routed to the Thank You page which is blank (with none of the normal registration details). You are put in the attendees database, but with the alert icon under payment. “Authorize.net AIM” is not recorded in the “Type” field like it normally is. Authorize.net has no record of the transaction. It is hard to say exactly when this happened, and thus it is hard to know exactly what changed. We’ve narrowed the time frame window and believe these were the only changes made that may have triggered the issue:
1. We received the error that asked us to run a script on our attendees, and we ran that script through the WP-Admin.
2. We installed Event Espresso on another system and registered it with a site license key.
3. We updated Force SSL plugin. This initially broke SSL. What we know. 1. Nothing has changed with respect to Authorize.net, and all CC transactions with our other online store continue work as normal. 2. No updates to WordPress core. 3. We’ve fixed the SSL issue (permissions issue) and now all pages that should use SSL do. 4. Authorize.net SIM method works. I really assumed it was the SSL issue, but now SSL is working on our site and AIM continues to not work. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the all event espresso plugins, and am using the 3.1.27.1 plugin.

Hello,

Have you tried to rule out any plugin conflicts? Deactivate all non-Event Espresso plugins, then test to see if the problem is still occurring. If it isnt then we know it is a plugin conflict. To find out which one, activate each plugin individually testing for the issue after each activation. If the issue occurs after activating a plugin, this plugin is the culprit.

Well it isn’t going to be a plugin issue since no plugins changed between when this was working and when it wasn’t. As you can see above, I’ve outlined the things that have changed. Additionally, I reverted the WordPress HTTPs plugin back to prior version, even though SSL seemed to be working, but that wasn’t it either.

Nonetheless, I did a WP plugin conflict check like you asked, and no, that didn’t solve the problem.

Hey Thomas,

We have recently noticed that long event titles (Around 30 characters) are causing problems with Authorize.net transactions. Can you try shortening the event title? We have created a ticket for our developers to address this issue.

Hi Jonathan,

I am also having problems with AIM. We haven’t changed our titles, but are getting numerous declined. When I did a test event, it worked fine. Any ideas?
