Purchased an SSL certificate so my clients can stay on my website when making payments. I also recently switched from using paypal to Auth.net. I setup the proper ID and transaction key in the payment section under Auth.net, but when I went in to submit a credit card, an error page came up. I was told a plugin needs to be added. I have no clue and need help! Thank you!

Hi Julie, Could you post the error message that you saw? Also what was the plugin that needs to be added? — |
Hi Lorenzo! I’m not sure what plugin needs to be added. Auth.net just told me that event espresso is not communicating with each other. I was also told a https plugin needed to be added. I just purchased the basic license to get support tokens. How do I get someone to call me? Does this make any sense? 🙂 Thank you! |

Hi! Let me know what you think. |
Thanks! I’m taking a look now. You’ll receive another email update shortly. — |
Awesome, thank you! |

Hi Lorenzo, |
Hello, I replied earlier to the email that the information was shared with. It looks like this: yourname@yourorganization — |

Hi I got it sorry. This is a new account with Auth.net. I have been using paypal. I didn’t see anything about Company required on Auth.net. Can you respond through here? I’m not logged in to outlook anymore. Thanks! |
I’ll copy your notes over. It would be best to continue the conversation there on your private ticket. — |
Ok I’ll wait to hear from you on next steps! Thank you! |
Yes you can run a test. |
I know it works b/c I originally had Auth.net setup under the SIM tab and it was directing clients to Auth.net for payments. |
Posting solution here: Ran a test transaction through the Authorizenet servers. Then restored the original credentials and turned off test mode. — |

Hi Lorenzo, it was working yesterday but not working today. Can you help again? I sent an email with the error page. Thank you! |
Hello. I was working with Lorenzo yesterday on this issue. After a client enters in credit card information an error page occurs. It was working yesterday late afternoon. But not working today. Can Lorenzo please help again? |
Lorenzo doesn’t have to help, but thought he’d know how to help me best |
I need help. When a client goes to pay for an event after submitting payment it takes the client to an error page. |
Hi Julie, Can you find out what the error message is and let us know so we can help fix? |
I just emailed the error page to support@eventespresso.com. It was a screenshot. Please let me know If you got it. |
Hi Julie, That’s a 404 not found error, which might mean the page isn’t published. Can you go to Event Espresso System status and verify that the Thank You page is published? |
Hi Julia, Can you make sure the Thank You page is still active? It’s the one with the [ESPRESSO_PAYMENTS] shortcode on it. Also make sure it is chosen in General Settings. |
Please try a transaction again. The Thank You page was set to Private, that’s what caused your 404 error. |
Hello, how do I know if the Thank You Page is still active? I can give you my log in information to see. Let me know |
Already been fixed Julie. Someone had set the Thank You page to private, we set it back to public. |
It worked, thank you!!! |
You’re welcome. We went ahead and installed the Exclude pages from navigation menu plugin and set the core Event Espresso pages (Thank You, Registration Cancelled, and Transactions) to not be displayed in the site navigation menu. As an aside, please check with your website’s developer about updating the core WordPress software. The site will need to update to the latest version of WordPress *before* Event Espresso gets updated because the newer versions of Event Espresso will not run on the older versions of WordPress. |
