Attendee Mover Payment Stuck

Hello,

(PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE finish partial payments/deposit functionality!!).

I have two tickets, Ticket A and Ticket A – Deposit. I registered a user in Ticket A – Deposit which had a cost of $150. I moved the attendee to Ticket A which had a cost of $875. Now the attendee shows a payment of $150 on Ticket A and a balance due of $725. Perfect. Then, I deleted the payment from the Ticket A – Deposit so I could then delete that “old” registration. After I did that, the new Ticket A registration shows a payment of $150 made “…via Unknown” but an amount due of $875. I can’t delete the registration because it says there is a payment applied. The original Ticket A – Deposit registration has been deleted. I can’t find a way to delete the Ticket A registration. Help!

Hi there,

I moved the attendee to Ticket A which had a cost of $875. Now the attendee shows a payment of $150 on Ticket A and a balance due of $725. Perfect.

Note at this point that everything was correct, you didn’t need to do any additional steps from here.

Then, I deleted the payment from the Ticket A – Deposit so I could then delete that “old” registration

When you use the attendee mover add-on it basically creates a clone registration on the correct event/ticket, assigned that registration to the original transaction including all payments assigned to that transaction and then cancels the original registration.

So what you have done here is remove the deposit payment assigned to the transaction, that transaction was/is in used by the new registration.

I can’t delete the registration because it says there is a payment applied. The original Ticket A – Deposit registration has been deleted. I can’t find a way to delete the Ticket A registration. Help!

You now want to delete Ticket A registration? Isn’t that your current registration that you need to keep?

You mentioned you’ve removed the deposit registration so I’m not sure which reg your now trying to delete.

Yes, I want to delete the Ticket A registration because the payment info is not correct. It shows the $150 payment (from the old reg) but the total due doesn’t include that $150. Additionally, I can’t get to the invoice anymore by clicking on the invoice button. The Ticket A registration is just not right. I didn’t realize the attendee mover relies on the old registration.

The attendee mover actually cancels the original registration (it does not automatically delete the original registration but the original registration can be deleted). You can remove the payment (and add new, correct payments, by going to Event Espresso > Transactions (or click on the transaction link from within the registration record.)

When I click the Transaction link it shows “No payments have been applied to this transaction yet. Click “Apply Payment” below to make a payment.”.

When I look at the registration in list view it shows a payment of $150 “…via Unknown”.

There is no payment of $150 showing anywhere in the transactions list.

I would just like to delete the “orphaned” registration. It seems to be stuck with the old registration (Ticket A – deposit) that is now deleted.

Hi there,

You should be able to delete the original registration now that the payment was deleted, but not knowing exactly what happened there I can only make guesses why it’s not letting you delete the registration now.

If you can complete the secure form on this page (and please include the transaction ID so we know exactly where to look) we can take a look and find out why it’s not allowing you to delete the registration.

Hi Bill,

Have you been moving the registrations in question into the trash in the last few minutes? Also there are a few database plugins installed on this site, was any of the registration data for these modified or deleted via those plugins?

Hi Josh. I haven’t done anything in the registration since about 3:30 PM Eastern time. And no, I haven’t used the database plug-ins at all.

Did anyone else? The reason I ask is because when I first logged in the registration in question was there, then it was moved to the trash, then it was permanently deleted.

Wow! No one else was in deleting anything. The last thing I did was to try and delete it one more time before I sent you the login info. I also tried deleting the related reg that was in the trash but that wouldn’t go either saying it was part of another group of registrations.

Is there anything that would happen with a new admin logging in?

Do you see the two other trashed registrations that won’t delete?

Is there anything that would happen with a new admin logging in?

How would that work?

Do you see the two other trashed registrations that won’t delete?

Yes, those are associated with the registration with REG ID 227.

How would that work?

I don’t know. Just asking.

Yes, those are associated with the registration with REG ID 227.

I see that now but it took a while to figure out how to find that info. They stay trashed forever unless I delete the Reg they are associated with?

Those other two registrations share the same transaction with the other registration (Reg ID 227). Before those registrations can be permanently deleted, all registrations made in the same transaction must be trashed as well. The registrations will be permanently deleted in the same action.
