Attendee limit / scarcity – can it be shown in the Custom Template add-on

Hi,

In the Custom Template add-on which displays event lists (e.g. I found this site which shows the events table http://pawsintraining.com/dog-training-schedule-registration/) can you add a column to show the registration limit AND a way of showing when the course is nearing full (scarcity)?

Also I know EE3 can do everything I need – but I was wondering how soon EE4 would have the Multiple Events add-on?

Thanks,

Elaine

Hi Elaine,

Not by default. The templates can be modified through code though, and therefore can be made to show the data you need.

Regarding EE4’s multiple registration addon, I can’t advise much. It is planned but is still in the planning stages, so we do not have a release date for even the beta version currently.

Hi Dean,

Thanks for your reply. How easy is it to modify the code?

Could you show me an example?

Hi,

In EE3 it’s quite easy. EE4 is a little harder due to the way it’s set up with multiple datetime and tickets all having their own capacity.

This example is for EE3.

Here’s some basic documentation regarding making a custom template (you can simply copy the existing and rename it in the right places) – https://eventespresso.com/wiki/custom-templates-add-on-create-a-template/

All I have done in my example is add in a new table column (table header and table cell) and added the appropriate shortocde via do_shortcode.

http://take.ms/2QnN8

This will now show the sold tickets / max capacity for the events : http://take.ms/Qctl6

Of course, you will still need to know HTML to a good level and knowing some basic PHP is a good idea too (or have a developer that can do it for you).

Last question…

If you have two types/categories of courses is it possible to have them on separate Custom Template add-on event lists (on separate pages)?

Hi, that can be done by using a shortcode parameter for event identifier:

Show events from a specific category on the template
[EVENT_CUSTOM_VIEW category_identifier=”your-event-category-identifier”]
