Hi
I am using the Barcode attendee checkin on my site.
According to this article:

You can enter a persons name to search for an attendee then check them in. However it does not work when I enter a name I get an error.
Am I doing something wrong??

Hi Steve,
Unfortunately not, that thread is actually incorrect, you can not simply enter a name into the barcode scanner in lookup mode. Especially on the frontend as it brings up all kinds of privacy issues (for example simply searching for ‘Steve’ would need to list all registrations linked to any ‘Steve’ as there’s no way to find your unique registration from the name alone).
If you are logged into the site and using the scanner on the front end you should have a ‘Search by keyword’ option in the dropdown which will allow you to search, but it will direct you to the ‘Check-in list’ in the admin for the results rather than displaying them on the page.
