I find it so unbelievably hard to find documentation on ANYTHING simple and basic with this plugin. A while back I asked for the printing shortcodes for the tickets, more specifically the attendee address, and I got the following as the answer, however no information for the ZIP code. Would you please let me know? Thank you. Hi Hubert, There is some documentation in the ticketing add-on guide that goes into how to modify ticket templates: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/espresso-ticketing/ In this case, you can use the ticketing add-on’s answer shortcode in the template, which will look like this: |

Oh, I also need the shortcode for the name and last name, as [fname] and [lname] are not working. Thank you! |

Hi Again… my problem with zip was it needs to have the Z initial in caps. Great… but the [fname] and [lname] are not working in the ticket template. Can you please give me a hand? |

Hello Hubert, Where exactly are you using the shortcodes? They are designed to be used directly in the actual template file, not in the ticket description. If used in the template itself, all the shortcodes do function. The [answer_xxx] shortcodes will happily work in either the template or the description. The zip/postal code is built into the address so I am not quite sure what you mean when you say you need a capital Z on zip? |

[answer_Address]<br> Are there any other shortcodes, and if so, what are they? And once again, what will they be for first and last name (for the description)? Thank you! |
Hi hubertinc, Here’s a link to the documentation for the shortcode tags for the ticketing add-on: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/espresso-ticketing/#template-tags You’ll find the shortcodes for first name and last name which are: [fname] and [lname] |

I don’t mean to be rude, but did you even read my post? There is no documentation on the attendee address, city, zip, etc. Also, as I mentioned before, [fname] [lname] do not work in the ticket description. What would be the shortcodes FOR the ticket description for first and last name? |
I read your post. A few times. Are you actually trying to enter the shortcodes into the ticket’s description? If so, this will not work. The shortcodes will work in the ticket template, not the ticket’s description. |

I see. Well, at least I got the attendee address working there. I will go ahead and change the template as well, but this is something that could be implemented in the future. It would actually be very useful for the ticket instructions for example. I had it in the template before, and after the plugin update, it went back to the original template… I know, I know, I can make a custom template and all, but I think that would be a great thing anyway. Thanks! |
Yep, we try to make that clear in the documentation where custom templates can be copied over to so they do not get overwritten on an update. |
