We run the same event over and over but with new dates and tickets. The list is getting quite long after a few years. Is there a way to archive Datetimes and Tickets so we can keep only the latest items in our Event Admin?

Hi Matt,

What do you mean by archive? Normally the most recent events are listed at the top of the Event Overview page. You can also filter the event over view page for just active events.

I don’t mean Events. I mean Datetimes and Tickets. Say I was running a concert tour with 40 dates on the tour and 15 ticket types/price points per Datetime. After a while the list gets quite long. Would be great to archive past datetimes and tickets so I’m only dealing with currently on sale and future Datetimes.

Hi Matt,

You can’t remove previous datetimes without first manually removing the registration linked to that DateTime. To do that you need to first remove the payments linked to the registrations as you can’t delete registrations with payments associated with them.

So the current answer to this is to duplicate the event, set the permalink for the original event to include say the date and save, then set the duplicate event slug to use the ‘original’ slug… basically replacing the original event with your duplicate. Then you have a ‘fresh set of DateTime/Tickets to start with moving forward from that point.

You’re basically using your event as a recurring event which officially EE4 doesn’t support. It’s possible to do as you’ve seen but there are some limitations with the current set-up and how EE is expecting events to work. However, the good news is that we are aware of those issues and have been working hard on the next version of Event Espresso to address those AND include support for recurring events (there will be more filtering options within the event editor, and basically an all round ‘better’ DateTime/Ticket editor).
