We have an exclusive event where we need to approve all of our registrants. Is it possible to set it up where the applicant would fill out the registration form and payment information initially. Then as soon as we approve the applicant, their card would be charged for the ticket amount?

Hi Wendy, that would not work as expected as Event Espresso does not store the full information for the payment.

So then our choices are either to a) have them register with payment using the default “approved” status (which in that case we would need to refund payments to those that are not approved) or b) have them register without payment using the default “not approved” status (which in that case the approved applicants would need to go back into the system and make payment). Is that correct?

Hi Wendy, those are the current options as Event Espresso does not store the full card information for each registration. Only a part of the transaction information would be stored and that is to help the merchant (event admin) reference a transaction for a payment that may have been made.
