Application Passwords Plugin

I’m trying to install Application Passwords to use with the mobile app, but after installing it, networking activating it, and checking under the user I logged into WordPress with, I still didn’t find the settings for Application Passwords.

I tried disabling all plugins (network and those activated on the tested site) other than the Event Expresso plugins and Application Passwords. I also tried installing it on a site that is on 4.6.1 (no multisite), and that one showed the Application Passwords settings. I’m not sure what the issue is, any ideas?

You will not find settings for Application Passwords because there are no settings. Instead, you’ll see some new fields for Application Passwords when you visit your WP User Profile page.

I wasn’t able to find those fields initially, but it appears that after I had disabled the Authy Two-Factor Authentication checkbox under the user, I was able to see the Application Passwords fields. Not exactly sure if that was the fix though, because after enabling Authy again, the Application Passwords field were still there.

Now I’m getting “No route was found matching the URL and request method” after trying to login to the Event Expresso app with the Application Passwords generated password.

You might need to disable the Authy Two-Factor Authentication plugin to see if that makes a difference, and you can follow this troubleshooting guide:

Hmm, after further testing, it turned out it wasn’t Authy that was the issue, but rather the Event Expresso plugin, when we deactivated it, the Application Passwords fields came up, but when we activated it again, it disappeared. Here’s what I mean: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJa6aJ6CYlk

I tried disabling Authy as well as going to WordPress > Settings > Permalinks as outlined in the troubleshooting guide, but I was still not able to login to the app.

Looks like it’s actually a conflict with the WP Users Integration add-on. I’ve made a ticket to them the developers know they need to fix that.

You can update to the current version of Event Espresso 4 and that will resolve the issue you saw with the Application Passwords fields not showing.
