My client has downloaded the eventespresso app to her phone – it has been working since she downloaded it until 2 days ago when she got this message immediately after logging in
Error Message on iphone
She is hosted on Siteground so I added
# Begin Custom htaccess
SetEnvIf Authorization "(.*)" HTTP_AUTHORIZATION=$1
# End Custom htaccess

to the htaccess file.
As far as I can see Siteground does not have FCGI
Is there anything else I can check to see what has gone wrong?

Hi,

The app’s troubleshooting guide has something else to check for the error in question. What can happen is if there’s a redirect set up on the site (like to redirect a request from http: to https:) then that can affect the app if the URL input into the login form was input as http. What they can try is input the site’s domain into the URL field, without http and without www.

My client has tried all of the below url’s but still gets the same error.
Anything else we can look at?

https://www.offcamber.com.au/wp-admin/
http://www.offcamber.com.au/wp-admin/
http://offcamber.com.au/wp-admin/
https://offcamber.com.au/wp-admin/
http://www.offcamber.com.au/wp-admin/
offcamber.com.au/wp-admin/

Hi there,

The app uses the WP REST API to communicate with your site so it just needs the ‘base’ URL to work from, remove the /wp-admin/ from the above URL’s.

https://www.offcamber.com.au or www.offcamber.com.au should work.

Hi,
When I use the base URL I get a Credentials Mismatch error.

Ok so that then means your using the correct URL but there’s likely an issue with the Authorization header.

Can you send me temp login details so I can capture the request and see if anything stands out?

If so you can do so using this form: https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

Hi,

Thank you for the login details, however, I’m not getting any issues logging in on both Android and iOS

I’m using www.offcamber.com.au in the Android app and https://www.offcamber.com.au/ in the iOS app, both work as expected.

Just to confirm, when logging into the app you are using your WP-Admin credentials, correct?

We’ve seen some users trying to log in with their EventEspresso.com account credentials, as the app connects directly to the site itself, you use the credentials for the site, not for here.

No problem, it happens 🙂

I’m glad it’s working for you now and a polite reminder that you can remove the account you created for me now.
