Hi,
Having changed to Event Espresso in the past year, do you have any recommendations on dedicated SSL certificates – using organizational validation vs domain validation?
Both offer the same level of security/encryption when communicating between you and the server, the main differences being that Organization Validation (OV) certificates are only issued after the business itself has been validated as a legitimate business and the warranty provided if encryption fails on Certificate Authority (CA) side is higher.
Domain validation (DV) certs are issued as soon as you can validate you control the domain (which can be done almost automatically).
Whilst I can’t recommend which one you chose, do you need the additional validation/warranty? Personally, I would use a simple DV cert unless there is a specific need for OV, which most won’t need.
