Hi guys,
I’ve juts updated to the most recent version. Still: if I dare to ignore the JS alert (when leaving the page) I create a duplicate entry. This is becoming a huge problem for us since it seems like all people ARE in fact ignoring this. Is there any workaround for preventing duplicate entries?
Example: user fill out the reg form and proceeds. On the next page, he decides that the entry should be changed and hits: browser back! Ignores the Alter. And has JUST created an entry…
I have to say, that we don’t over upfront or online payment, so the standard status is completed.
Any hints how to improve the system? Any help would be highly appreciated!!
If the user hasn’t completed the registration by either paying, clicking a finalise link or getting to the thank you page (free events) then he should not be able to create a separate registration as his PHP session is still active. What should happen is that his details will get over written (which is why we added the JS warning).
Because your client has reached the completed status then yes going back will definitely create a new attendee.
I will raise this with the developers to see if there is anything we can do, but in the meantime I would perhaps add a message to your events to not click the back button.
