Hello I am having issues with EE when trying to use PayPal Pro. I don’t receive any header errors all I receive is the Transaction Incomplete message. I added the black template file that EE provided to see if that solved the issue and it does not. I double checked the API credential and they all seem correct.

When I deactived all Plugins except for the EE plugins I received this message:

Attention: Your transaction was declined for the following reason(s):

Error Code: 10002
Short Message: Security error

Short Message: Security header is not valid

Severity Code: Error

With all plugin active I get no error message and it just say Incomplete.

I have SSL setup through Cloudflare.com could this be a part of the issue?

Also, I tried to upgrade the plugins to see if that has anything to do with it but it’s saying that my license key doesn’t support auto upgrade when it should support them. I’m guessing the key needs to be reset?

Any feedback ASAP would be much appreciated. The client currently can’t accept any payments for the business that she just launched.

Hi Daniel,

PayPal’s documentation for their error code 10002 states:

“This error can be caused by an incorrect API username, an incorrect API password, or an invalid API signature. Make sure that all three of these values are correct. For your security, PayPal does not report exactly which of these three values might be in error.”

It can be something as simple as an extra space copy/pasted into the API fields in Event Espresso>Payment settings to make the API values invalid. Also, if the gateway is set to be in test/sandbox mode it will cause the same error.

I saw that you requested a key reset so I reset the license key.

Hello Josh, thanks for your help the credentials were correct. I didn’t realize that you needed separate credentials when testing in sandbox mode. I just created a $.01 event and registered using my card and everything worked out fine. Thanks for your help.
