Hi – we are troubleshooting the above Site Health error on our WordPress site. The full error reads: “A PHP session was created by a session_start() function call. This interferes with REST API and loopback requests. The session should be closed by session_write_close() before making any HTTP requests.”
We have determined Event Espresso is the problem plugin by disabling all plugins and testing each one while the theme is set to WordPress default (Twenty Twenty). This testing is happening on the staging site as we need to keep the production site untouched until we solve the problem. Could you assist please? Thank you.

Hi there,

WordPress 5.5 added a check for sessions in site health which shows the above and EE has used sessions from the beginning, so essentially the only thing that has changed is there is now a notice in site health about them.

I’ve opened a ticket to discuss this further and see what we can do to prevent that notice but I’m assuming you’ve not run into any issues so far? (I haven’t).

Hi there,

Just noting that the latest version of Event Espresso (4.10.7.p) fixes the above notice.
