Hi!
I am using the upcoming events widget on my homepage but am having a little problem at the moment. It was working fine for my events, but now one of my upcoming events is an event with an alternative url. When i press the event in for example the calendar it works and redirects to the alternative url. But now when i press the event in the upcoming events widget it does not direct me to the alternative url.
Could you tell me how i can make this work?

Hi Ruby,
It turns out there’s a few tickets in our issue tracker to fix this. There’s also a commit pending merge into an upcoming Event Espresso 4 release. If you want to apply the change now, here’s a link to the commit:

Hi Josh,
Thank you for your message! I don’t really understand what you are saying here:$ Issue tracker, this means that it will be fixed in upcoming updates from the add on right? What is a commit which is pending? I see the “commit” but where should i put it? In my functions.php? Should i literally copy it?

No, you can make the same edit to your copy of the widget file. The fix will be included in an future update of Event Espresso core, but you might want to add the fix sooner.
