Allow event sponsors 2

Is there a way for an event to allow someone to purchase an event sponsorship or multiple sponsorships for a single event without actually purchasing an event ticket?

We have a fundraising event that people can purchase tickets for. We would like them to also be able to purchase one or more sponsorships or purchase just sponsorships with no ticket purchase. Then, if they purchase one or more sponsorships, they will enter details (who the sponsorship is in memory of) for each sponsorship purchased. Does that make sense?
