Without seeing the issue first hand I can only provide basic solutions.
I would say it is likely to be one of two things:
1) Memory issue, which can be updated by following this guide, though the server will still limit memory even if you increase it in WordPress, so it can depend on your server set up too.
2) a plugin (maybe theme)conflict, possibly to do with JavaScript being loaded incorrectly. You can test this by temporarily deactivating all other plugins and switching to a default theme such as TwentyTwelve.

We have narrowed it down to the ticketing plugin, if that and the main one are activated, the main one fails to load pages, all other plugins, like fancybox and mailchimp etc don’t make a difference. Both are the latest, I have put in the update code in the admin from my login here but it won’t update automatically, it failed, had to do it manually
You can check the php error log on the server, or turn on wp_debug in wp-config.
