After upgrading to the most recent version of Event Espresso, out WordPress website was disabled. Those accessing the website received an “HTTP 500” error. Our website host is Blue Host. They deactivated Event Espresso and website was “fixed” and could now be accessed. They checked their server logs, htaccess files and PHP memory among other things and found no other issues. Therefore, it was determined that the upgraded EE plugin was causing the issue.

Hi Robert,

May I ask what’s the version of PHP that’s installed on your web server? Event Espresso requires at least PHP 5.4 in order to function.

Blue Host states that the PHP version is 5.6.32.

Hi Robert,

We received your request for priority support and your site is back up and running with Event Espresso now. We deleted the copy of Event Espresso that was on the server (which had some corrupted files) and installed a fresh copy. You can access your event and registration data same as before.

I’ll follow with with an email because there are a few items on the server that you should contact Bluehost about.
