I recnetly upgraded to proper version off EE3. I’ve also added a transaction email service. I’ve been doing lots of testing and now when they try to register and payment is declined there are no email generated. Before the upgrading wordpress would send me an email and I could see that the payment was declined.

What do I have to change to make this happen.

Thanks!

Hi Ted,

I don’t recall Authorizenet sending out notifications when a payment is declined. I’ve asked some team members to share feedback since I’m not sure if this is a current feature in Event Espresso 3.

Authorize.net didn’t send emails about declined payment but I would get an email from wordpress/event expresso and I could see the payment was declined. Now I only get emailed when the payment goes through.

Hi Ted,

It turns out that we didn’t intend on sending those emails in the older versions of EE3, they were actually meant for debugging and should have only been sent while test mode was active. You may have even noticed that the subject line in those emails was “Authorize.net Notification – Gateway Variable Dump”.

We can restore the email debugging to your site, it’s a one line code change. Lorenzo mentioned to me that you sent us some FTP credentials a little while ago. If those are still valid, and you say it’s okay for someone from EE staff to re-enable those Gateway variable email dumps, we can do it.

yes that would be great, I liked getting those because I could then notify the people that their spot will not be reserved and they have to re-register. Do you need anything from me?

Okay I went ahead and activated the authorize.net debugging emails. You can verify that it’s working by going to register for an event, and use a bogus credit card number on the credit card billing form. That will trigger a decline and you should get an email like you did before.
