After registering for an event, I go back to the Event Registration page

I am using the free version of EE and every time I try to register for my own event (debugging and paypal sandbox option checked) all it does is return me to the Event Registration page.

I have made sure that the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode is on the “Event Registration” page. This was set up by default when I uploaded the plug in.
