after recent upgrade, First, Last and Email fields are duplicating on Reg form

It appears that after the upgrade that the following fields are being appended to the Registration form:

First Name
Last Name
Email Address

So those fields show up twice on the form. I checked the Questions and Questions groups and I don’t see any duplication. How can I fix this?

Hi there,

This looks like there might be an older version of the Roles and permissions plugin installed. If you have that one installed, can you make sure it’s the latest version?

We’re running whatever version you set us up with. Remember you gave us a hand the other day? Can you help us get this up and running? Everything ran pretty smooth up until the upgrades…

Just sent you an email. I believe I fixed the duplicated fields by making sure the Roles and Permissions plugins were up to date. There may be a couple events that still have duplicated first and last name fields. If you find them, just open the event in the event editor, then re-save the event.

Hello, I just downloaded Event Espresso – 3.1.22.2.P. I believe I have encountered the same issue. Not only do I have duplicate entries, but it appears to be pulling data from my contacts list. It’s populating the Additional Information area. Would my solution be the same? If so, where do i find the Roles and Permissions plugins?

I tried re-saving the event, but there was no change.

UPDATE: I just discovered it is somehow pulling information from Facebook????? I’ve de-activated ALL the plugins and I get the same result.

This is baffling!

Hi Lane,

This sounds like a different issue, the original poster was reporting duplicated fields to fill out, not entries. Event Espresso 3.1.22.2.P is an older (almost one year old) version that has been updated several times (it’s now on version 3.1.30.7) I’d recommend deactivating and the deleting the version you have now, and downloading the newest version from your account page and re-installing with the new one.

So sorry about that. I did update to the new version, but I’m still having the same issue. Should I start a new thread?

Hi Lane,

It’s probably best to start a new thread. I checked and ran a test registration and I can see that the entries are getting doubled, with other information, which is really strange. I haven’t seen this before.

Since you’ve tried deactivating the plugins, I’d suggest trying a registration using a different theme, like twentytwelve. You can actually run a test with another theme while logged in as admin by using the theme test drive plugin.
