Hi, I have just installed Event Expresso and in the backend the only page that has something on it it the ‘Event Overview’ tab. Everything else (General Setting, Questions, Categories, etc) looks like this: http://therealexperience.com.au/nothing.jpg Have I installed it wrong? Cheers. |

Are you on VPS hosting? If so, you may want to increase your memory. |
|
Can you explain that a little more? Thanks. |

It looks like you are running out of RAM (random access memory) on your server. Basically the loads to a certain point, then runs out of processing power. I have seen this happen when there are a lot of other plugins installed or when lots of events have been added to the database. So you may need to increase the available RAM on the server. If you do not have access to increase the memory, you may want to talk to your hosting provider. |

Hi Seth, I have increased the memory but the problem still exists. Any other ideas? |

It’s possible that something is missing (eg. didn’t get uploaded when Event Espresso was installed) I would download a fresh copy of Event Espresso from the account page, uninstall the version that’s installed right now, delete it, and upload the new one. If the issue persists, edit the wp-config.php file and set the wp debug to true, that might produce an error message that should point to some clues. |

Downloaded a fresh copy of Event Expresso. Uninstalled and deleted the old one. Uploaded/Installed the new of Event Expresso. The issue persists. I have edited the wp-config file and set the wp debug to true and this is what it comes up with: Notice: Undefined index: site_license_key in /home/thereal/public_html/rego/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/includes/admin-files/misc_functions.php on line 62 I have been unable to input my license key because the page to input it doesn’t show up. Is there another way I can do it? |

Hey Matt — 2 things I would do. First off, let me comment that an Unidentified index error would not prevent the page from loading. It just means that there’s a variable that hasn’t been defined. So, the first thing I would try is disable all your other plugins, then see if you get the same thing. The second thing I would do is try running this plugin (or the scanner on their site): http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/sucuri-scanner/ — it’s possible you’ve been hit by a malware bot. I’ve seen all sorts of weird errors caused by these because they inject code into various different files throughout the site which ends up breaking stuff. It may or may not even catch it, if you were infected, but it’s worth running it just to test at least. |
