Hi Guys

Quick questions as per title – is this possible? To filter the list of enrolments to show attendees that are marked as approved but have pending payments. If not, any options for a workaround? thanks

Hello Waz,

A registrant/attendee is counted against any limits set when they receive a status of registration approved.

If an event is free, then this happens after they share their contact information.

If an event is paid, then this happens after they share their contact information AND pay for their registrations.

If you are currently using the admin pre-approval option via the not approved registration status in the event editor, then try updating a registrant/attendee to pending payment and notify via the bulk actions dropdown menu (https://cl.ly/081W1B1E422L) which appears in the top left area of the registrations overview screen.

That will send them a payment reminder and if they click-through and pay, then they will be updated to registration approved.

Hi Lorenzo

Thanks for your assistance. Just so you can understand how I am using EE – the events are paid events where people are completing enrolments and a small percentage are paying offline (EFT) at a later stage (e.g. via invoice on 30 day terms). In the meantime the registration is approved so the attendee can receive registration information but the payment is still pending. I wish to track enrolments of only these kinds where payments are still pending but registration status is approved. Is this possible?

Hi Waz,

Currently you can only filter the registrations based on the reg status, not on the transaction status.

So to view the registrations your looking for you would need to filter for ‘Approved’ registrations. Then manually find the registrations within the list that have a blue TXN Date as that means the Transaction status is incomplete – http://take.ms/nvwUO

This assumes you did not manually apply a payment to ‘Approve’ the registration previously and just set the Registration status to Approved within the admin, is that correct?

I don’t understand this. Can you please explain this again? If it shows 3 tickets in pending payment. questions… what does that mean? does it mean that the funds have been approved, but just not deposited yet? does a pending payment show as a attendee? how long does it stay a pending payment? if the date of the event arrives and it still says pending payment, am I assured payment???

these are the questions I want answered please.

If it shows 3 tickets in pending payment. questions… what does that mean?

If it shows Pending Payment, then EE has not been notified of any ‘approved’ payment made for the registrations or the user selected an offline payment method and finalized the registration.

A Pending Payment registration is awaiting payment, that can be either from an online payment method within EE or the admin applying a payment from within the admin.

does it mean that the funds have been approved, but just not deposited yet?

It depends on which payment method your using on your site. If you are referring to EFT, then no. The EFT payment method is just an offline payment method within EE used to allow the user to select the payment type they are making and pull up the details they need. There is no processing within EE for those payment, you need to check for the fund transfer within the account and then manually apply that payment within EE.

does a pending payment show as a attendee?

No, pending payment registrations do not count towards the attendee limit for the event, only ‘Approved’ registrations apply.

how long does it stay a pending payment?

Until a payment is applied within the transaction, again this can be done using an online payment method such as PayPal, Stripe etc or manually through the admin (you receive the funds within your account and then manually apply that payment into EE)

if the date of the event arrives and it still says pending payment, am I assured payment???

It seems there is some confusion over what the offline payment methods in EE do.

Offline payment methods don’t transfer any funds at all, they don’t put any holds within the users account etc. They simply allow the user to select the method of payment they will be using so there is a reference and both the admin and user know how that user intends to pay.

EE does not have any access to control any of the funds involved with offline payment methods. You will want to confirm the user has paid into your account before allowing that user to attend your event.
