Hello
after updating Event Espresso to newest version we have a problem with additional pennies added to the payment. In backend there is an info “The registrations’ share of the transaction total is approximate because it might not be possible to evenly divide the transaction total among each registration, and so some registrations may need to pay a penny more than others. This registration’s final share is actually £26.04 ”
Can you tell me what it means and how to get rid of it?
It seem to be quite not fair to our clients who has additional fee… and we have no idea why.

Hi there,
The note about rounding is for when there are multiple registrations in one transaction, there’s a discount, and the discount is split between each registration in the transaction. It turns out the actual transaction amount does not change, no fees should be added to the transaction.
Can you check the transaction amount in the transaction and verify whether that’s the case?

Well the thing is, that clients need to pay additional pennies… and they do and ask us why is it so.
This is data from one of our last transactions:

Type of payment doesn’t matter.

Hi Simon,
I took a look at your site and what looks to be happening is this:
You have a base price of £21.67 and a 20% VAT. The 20% VAT for two tickets is getting rounded to £8.67. So two tickets x £21.67 = £43.34. Then when it takes the £43.34 and adds £8.67 that = £52.01.
I’ve made a ticket for the dev team to investigate. They can fix things so the checkout takes the line items and calculates the total accurately when there’s a percentage based price modifier.
