When refunding or transferring a registration, the Amount in the Registrations Admin Table is shown as free (and amount in the CSV reports is “0.00”). This leads to confusion on why a registration is free. Instead of free, could it say the reason (i.e. “Refunded: $x.xx”, “Transferred”, etc)?
Do you not use the registration status to determine the above?
I’ll open a ticket to discuss this with the team, but if a registration is transferred the original is set to be cancelled, so the registration status will show cancelled.
If you refund a the amount paid, do you not update the registration status to pending payment/cancelled?
I’m just trying to work out what the flow for this would/should be so I understand what is happening fully.
Hello, I appreciate the quick response! Yes, when refunding or transfering, the original registration status is changed to cancelled. That IS an indicator that it was either refunded or transferred.
However, the “Free” sticks out a bit more on a row since cancelled status is just a grey box unless you hover over it (cancelled could also have multiple meanings). The “Free” wording especially is confusing for a refunded registration since it sort of implies they purchased a ticket for free.
For the CSV report, when there is a refund, it shows multiple payment dates and payment methods (separated by comma), but only one “Amount”. There’s no way to see the initial amount paid as it’s all zeroed out due to the full refund.
