Adding to a subgroup in MailChimp

I run a site for an annual kids math competition. We want the participants who register to compete for 2012 to be added to a subgroup of the main list in MailChimp called “2012”. Does EE support adding registrants to a subgroup instead of just a main list?

The MailChimp add-on does not currently support sub-groups. We had a version of the plugin that was given to us by a user that was supposed to support groups but we could never get it to work.

We will be adding this functionality as soon as we’re able, but we’ve got a bunch of other things on our plate before we can address that.

Okay, I’ve got a workaround for this year’s event registration, but would really appreciate it if you can get this implemented by next summer! Thanks!! 🙂
